The Deposit Insurance of Vietnam attends the virtual meeting of the Asia-Pacific regional committee

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Linh Nam – the DIV’s Deputy General Director, the Head and staff of the Research and International Cooperation Department.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Linh Nam, and other APRC member representatives warmly welcomed newly-designated representatives from the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Central Deposit Insurance Corporation – Taiwan, the Fund of Guarantee Citizens’ Deposits in Banks of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting also adopted the agenda of the meeting; approved the minutes of the last APRC meeting on October 26, 2022; updated recent activities of APRC Committees. Besides, the Chairman of the Steering Committee on the IADI Core Principles review and update and the representative of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) shared the results of the survey of IADI and APRC members respectively on reviewing and updating the IADI Core Principles and announced plans for the next phase.

Mr. Hidenori Mitsui – the APRC Chairman announced two major events of APRC in the coming time, including i) APRC's Annual Meeting hosted by DICJ in June 2023; ii) Technical assistance workshop hosted by the DIV in November 2023.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Linh Nam announced the expected time of the event, and he also shared that the DIV was actively coordinating with the Training and Capacity Building Unit (TCBU) and the APRC's Technical Assistance and Training  Committee (TATC) to carry out early preparation for the event. Mr. Nguyen Linh Nam also expressed his pleasure and honor for the trust of members and the Executive Council of IADI, APRC, and he wished to continue receiving the attention and interest of related stakeholders to the event.

Actively participating in activities, and hosting events in the region and IADI in general helps the DIV to show its active role and grasp the cooperation activities of the APRC and IADI. Accordingly, the DIV will proactively implement international cooperation activities in line with the DIV’s operational orientations in 2023.
