Vietnam Deposit Insurance Branch in Hanoi propagates deposit insurance policies at the Conference on implementing the People's Credit Fund

In the morning of February 28, 2023, at the Hall of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Hanoi branch, a conference on implementing the tasks of the People's Credit Fund was held in 2023. Baoviet Branch  Vietnam Deposit Insurance (Deposit Insurance) in Hanoi city coordinated to propagate deposit insurance policies at the event.

At the conference were Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Standing Deputy Governor of the State Bank;  Mr. Tran Dang Phi - Deputy Chief Inspector of Banking Supervision and Inspection Agency;  Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan - Director of SBV City Branch.  Hanoi;  Mr. Vu Van Long - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Deposit Insurance;  Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cooperative Bank of Vietnam;  representatives of leaders of the City People's Committee.  Hanoi;  leaders of a number of departments and branches;  representatives of 22 districts, towns and cities;  City Cooperative Alliance;  representative of the Vietnam People's Fund Association and leaders of 98 People's Funds in the area.

At the conference, the Branch propagated to the participants some contents of deposit insurance policies, activities of the Vietnam Deposit Insurance, the implementation of deposit insurance policies in the provinces in charge of the Branch;  presenting reportage, propaganda items and standee sets with the content: "Protecting the legitimate rights and interests of depositors";  “Contributing to maintaining the stability of credit institutions”;  “Ensure the safety and soundness of banking activities”.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Standing Deputy Governor of the State Bank emphasized that the country's economy is not large in scale, but the opportunity to open up and integrate is great.  Therefore, the world's common difficulties such as epidemics, inflation, appreciation of the US dollar, difficulties in goods circulation, etc. have a great impact on the economy and banking and financial activities.

Also according to Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu, the safety and stability in financial and monetary activities for the country is very important.  In particular, deposit insurance activities are an effective support tool for the operation of the banking system in general and people's credit funds in particular, especially for weak people's credit funds.  The strong implementation of deposit insurance operations over the past time has helped better protect the legitimate rights and interests of depositors, contributing to stabilizing the national financial and monetary activities.

Propaganda to event participants who are leaders and managers of PCFs helps them better understand the meaning and role of deposit insurance activities in Vietnam and the benefits that the policy brings.  From there, each delegate will be a bridge to transmit, disseminate and spread the deposit insurance policy to a large number of people, and at the same time can directly answer questions and opinions of depositors about the deposit insurance policy at  People's Funds.
